Hollow Lantern

Hollow Lantern is the kind of game you play with the lights off and headphones in. You explore a hushed, foggy village one tap at a time, solving environmental puzzles and slowly piecing together what happened to the people who lived there. It's atmospheric without being pretentious.

The puzzles are logical and fair — I never had to resort to a guide, which is rare for the genre. Everything you need is somewhere on screen if you look carefully, and the game trusts you to notice.

It's on the shorter side, maybe four or five hours, but every scene is handcrafted and I wouldn't trade the pacing for padding. Easily one of my favourite mobile adventures this year.
