In arcade racers, the drift is the whole game
I've played a lot of mobile racers, and the ones I remember aren't the fastest. They're the ones where sliding around a corner feels incredible.
A good drift is a feedback loop. You commit to the slide, the car communicates back through sound and animation, and if you nail the timing you get rewarded with a boost or a clean exit. That moment is the entire hook.
Games that chase realism on a touchscreen usually stumble, because precise inputs and a wobbly phone don't mix. Arcade handling that leans into the slide plays to the platform's strengths instead.
Next time you try a mobile racer, ignore the top speed stat and just take one corner sideways. If that feels good, the game's probably a keeper.
