How we actually decide on a score
People ask how we land on a number, and the honest answer is: with a lot of arguing. There's no spreadsheet formula that spits out '4.6' at the end.
We each play the game solo first, jotting down what worked and what annoyed us. Controls, pacing, and whether it respects your time carry the most weight. Graphics matter, but a pretty game that plays badly won't score well with us.
Then we compare notes. If someone loved a game the rest of us shrugged at, they have to make the case. Sometimes that changes minds, sometimes the score lands in the middle.
The number is subjective, and we're fine saying that out loud. Read the actual words in the review — that's where the real opinion lives.
